Throwing Rocks

After making this video, I was introduced to Palestinian writer Mira Mattar. In her book, Yes I am a Destroyer, she writes:

“I keep my head down only in search of stones. I get them from parks and neat gardens and around. I aim them at the cruel face on a billboard, a red light, lumpen luminous police.

I am only a sad vandal, gumming the eyes of the powerful-those who are simultaneously everybody, nobody and somebody-neutral, universal, unique.

Why may they have their eyes when we may not have our own?”
