I am an artist and researcher working across image, video, and sound to consider the plasticity of identity and memory in the Arab context. I am currently pursuing a PhD at Goldsmiths UoL researching (an)archival video practices in the Arab world. Initially, I took up photography to cope with the anxieties I felt watching my city slowly become unrecognisable. My practice is interdisciplinary, creating, collecting and collaging materials that evoke the eeriness of being suspended from a fixed time and place. At the centre of my artistic and academic work is a dedication to disrupting linearities.
My practice has been recognised as a PhMuseum Days finalist in 2022 and as a nominee for the FOAM Paul Huf Award in 2025 and the MullenLowe Nova Award in 2024. I have exhibited internationally with Youth X Mentoring, Residency 11:11, PhMuseum Days, NAFS, CHEAP Festival Bologna, and the Royal Commission of AlUla Gallery. Alongside my artistic practice, I have presented research at the London Conference of Critical Thought and work as an Associate Lecturer in the Media, Communications, and Cultural Studies department at Goldsmiths.
